Happy Endings
"and I don't want to go on pretending, that it's going to be a happy ending..."
I was listening to this song a while a ago, and was asking myself if there is such a thing as a happy ending? We fail into relationships and sometimes we ask ourselves what went wrong? And sometimes there is nothing wrong, but then again we just have to accept the fact and move on.
I believe that the fist step in easing the pain and bitterness that you feel is to let out the love that you have silently kept choked in your heart. You should have never waited this long to reveal your feelings but this is no time for sour graping. This revelation could make her turn the twist of fate but you need not worry as long as you remain steadfast in your conviction that you wouldn't hurt anybody.
The second is acceptance. I don't think a person who is seriously in love with someone would let all opportunities pass without telling the person what she/he feels. He/she could have said it long ago but didn't. You just have too accept that maybe, you were never really meant to be more than friends.
The only thing that keeps people from moving on, I think, are the tears they shed over spilled milk. They close their eyes and cry over the things that could have been and never look beyond the beautiful things that could be. They blame themselves and others for the love they lost and their guilt haunts them even in their sleep.
It may be a cliché, but it's true. If you are truly loved someone then be happy for that person. That's how love is, unselfish and forgiving. It's true that love doesn't always have a happy ending but life doesn't have to stop where love ends. You have to move on now... Never let love die. I know it is easier said than done. But give yourself a chance to be happy again. Losing love may be very painful but it is always better than not having loved at all. For with this loss comes a new hope of loving again and with our tears come a prayer that our love may finally find it's own happy ending.
